Reprogram Your Mind to Change Your Life

The subconscious mind is the most powerful tool anyone of any age can use. It functions like a huge secret memory and does not formulate any arguments. It is completely objective and it can’t express any point of view. The neutrality of subconscious mind is the core of every action and reaction our thoughts activate.

The saying ”If you think you can’t do it or you think you can, you are right” may be old, but it is filled with truth. Every single one of us was programmed in our early youth by our parents and even our schools with negative thoughts and, more importantly, with conventional stereotypes.  This “programming”, both unintentional and intentional, caused each of us to fall victim to self-imposed limitations.Susan_Karim

We live in a world full of negativity and it has become a part of our daily routine. All we have to do is to read a newspaper, listen to the radio or watch the TV and our subconscious mind readily absorbs the tragedies we read, hear, or see. Strange as it may seem, the world is not just destruction and misery.  The media loves to focus on these areas because drama and tragedy keep readers, listeners, and watchers engrossed.  The reality, though, is that our world is filled with the stories of individuals who achieved great things and overcame extraordinary adversity on a daily basis.

In order to achieve better results and improve your every aspect of your life, you have to learn how to reprogram your subconscious mind. To begin the process of reprogramming your subconscious mind, start by focusing on purely positive thoughts for 30 minutes. You may think, “30 minutes!  I hardly have time to take care of everything else in my day!  Where do I fit in 30 extra minutes?”

Relax. Just take the first 15 minutes of the day when you awake in the morning and the last 15 minutes of the day before you go to sleep. By beginning your day with positive thoughts, you will find that you are able to handle your daily grind with greater ease.  By ending your day with positive thoughts, your subconscious will have the chance to work while you are sleeping and you will be amazed at how refreshed you will feel come morning.

Night time is considered to be the best time of the day to meditate and focus on your positive messages. It is widely known that when you have a serious problem to solve and you are troubled, relaxing and leaving it to your subconscious before you go to sleep is extremely helpful. Answers may come about by morning because they already existed in your subconscious mind.  Writers, such as Mark Twain, have used the power of their subconscious mind to help them work through writers block.  Athletes often use their subconscious mind to go through the course of their race.  Scientific study has shown that athletes that trained for their race using only their subconscious mind and did not train on the course actually finished better that those that had trained exclusively on the course.

Don’t expect to change your programming in a day or two. It requires patience and time. All of the negative programming of a lifetime can not be transformed into positive mindset in just a few days. Just keep following the path you have set and you will find that the change will happen.  Just remember – you can’t fool your subconscious mind.  The messages you send to your subconscious mind must be real.  If you don’t believe in your message, you can’t expect your subconscious mind to accept it either.  Enjoy the journey!

How To Become an Effective Time Manager!

Time management is better known as the way of performing tasks or jobs in the available number of hours in our waking day. It has become a necessity in today’s fast-paced life, as a person acts in many roles. One has to be committed in order to fulfill all of the responsibilities with complete perfection. While doing so, people find themselves perplexed as to how to approach and manage all the things they must do and still enjoy ample leisure hours.

How To Become an Effective Time ManagerSusanKarim-269x300

Time management is simply a way of planning and organizing so that all tasks are managed and targets or deadlines are clearly stated. The easiest way to begin is to simply sit down and write out the plan. The most vital factor is bridging the gap between expected and achieved. The following steps will help us to manage time perfectly:

    · Target: First, fix a target in terms of what has to be achieved and in how much time. This provides an outline from which further planning can be undertaken.

    · Planning: After ascertaining the needs and the hours required for each task, it is time to create the perfect balance between the two. Allocate a sufficient amount of time to each task to be performed so that the goal is achieved. Remember to stay flexible with the time allocation, as the actual amount of time needed can be different from what was originally planned.

    · Setting Priorities: Next, tasks to be completed should be arranged in a descending order of priority. When the significance of each task is truly understood, managing the time becomes even easier.

    · Time Schedule: The final step is to prepare a timetable. This visual aid helps to complete the work on time, to see the progress of each task and its sub-tasks and to meet the set goal effectively.

Following these simple time management strategies in a business or personal setting gives one the tools to become a more effective and efficient individual and gain something that we are all in need of – more time.

Are You Wasting a Lot of Your Time?

Are You Wasting a Lot of Your Time?

How much of your life is simply being wasted-away?

When you step back and honestly evaluate what you accomplish each day, what kind of results are you typically getting?

Let’s look at some simple figures and do some simple math. I think that what you’ll see unfold will stun you a bit.

An Honest, Hard Look At How You’re Spending Your Life

After accounting for 8 hours of sleep, you have 16 hours left over each day to do stuff, or 112 hours a week.

Are you making the most of those 112 hours?

Of course, you’re not really supposed to ‘make the most’ of the time you spend eating or doing other leisurely activities, but even if you give yourself a very liberal 3 hours a day for food and recreation, that still leaves you with 91 hours a week for getting things done in your life.
Think about that for a moment…91 hours!

Did you realize that after sleep and 21 hours of eating and entertainment each week that you had 91 hours left over?

If you’re like most people (including myself, at one time), probably not.

Even when you take away 45 hours a week for work and a commute, you still have 46 hours left over.

Let’s do one more deduction. Let’s set aside another hour a day (7 hours a week) for miscellaneous activities, such as walking the dog, paying the bills and going shopping.

After all is said and done, you’re left with 39 hours a week.

Are you starting to feel a bit uncomfortable or uneasy about now? Does the idea that you may have nearly 40 hours a week that you probably can’t logically account for shock you bit?

Are you really wasting that much of your life each and every week with nothing to show for it?

    No, you say?!?

How about half that, or about 20 hours a week? Are you wasting away that much you think?

How about just a measly quarter of that, or 10 hours a week? Are you wasting 10 hours a week on nothing?

Now that we’ve got the waste-figure down to just 10 hours a week, you may not be feeling so bad about it. After all, it is just 10 hours. But consider this: That’s 520 hours, or 32.5 days (16 hour days) that is going down the dumper each year. And that’s a bare minimum! For you, it could be worse… 2, 3, or even 4 times worse (that’s over 4 months of waste)!

I know that was a lot a math, something you may not enjoy doing at all, but it was a necessary exercise.

I hope you’ve been able to see and understand the magnitude of what you may be doing with your most precious resource – your time.

When I did this exercise, I simply couldn’t believe it. I had to check my figures multiple times to make sure a number didn’t get misplaced or something. It didn’t!
What WAS misplaced was my carefree attitude about what I was actually doing with my time.

This led me to do what I normally do, and that’s pour through every resource I could in order to uncover ideas, tips and strategies to help turn things around I’ve created the Action Unleashed Guide.

This guide is a compilation of some of the best ideas I’ve found, along with a few of my own discoveries.

I’m sharing it because I know I’m not alone in my desire to want to make the most of my time, and thus my life.

If you’re with me on this, then I hope you find information inside this guide simple, clear, and useful – I want it to produce results for you!

    Five Building Blocks of Motivation!

Motivation is what gets you started. Habit is what keeps you going.

All right, you believe that positive living is unquestionably the way to go. You’re meeting and greeting the world with a confident attitude and your life is showing the signs already.  People are being influenced by your new attitude and are responding in kind.  You feel great and know that being positive really works!

Then something happens.  You get some bad news and you’re right back where you began! What happened to all your determination?  How can this happen?  What can you do to keep yourself motivated?

The answer?  A personal motivation plan.  And motivation is, as the word suggests, a motive for action.

Here are several suggestions to help get you started.Susan_Karim

    1. Feed Yourself Motivation Every Day

Is it possible to be positive and optimistic all the time?  The simple answer – No!  Motivation doesn’t last, but if you apply yourself and keep yourself on track, you will have far more up days than down.  To stay continuously motivated, we have to feed ourselves “motivational food” every day.  Just as we need daily food for physical energy, we need to feed ourselves daily “motivational food” for mental energy.

    2.  Build A Motivational Base

Read or listen to motivational material on a daily basis.  Visit your local library or bookstore and locate some inspirational material.  A well-written book that gives sound advice is far more motivating than reading about or listening to the latest crime stories or market declines.  Don’t have the time to read or don’t enjoy reading?  No problem!  Most in print books are also produced in an audio version.  Audio is wonderful to listen to because you can be doing something else while you are listening and learning.  A mere half hour a day listening to motivational tapes or CD’s in your car, while working out at the gym or just before going to bed will make a huge impact.

    3.  Live A Healthy Lifestyle

With regular exercise, your body will work more effectively and efficiently.  The side benefit – you will enjoy life more.  When the body moves, the mind moves even more.  An active body promotes an even more active mind.  The mind is forced to become more organized whether you want it to or not.  We may be thinking about work while we are exercising, but we are able to develop far more creative solutions.  Set aside some time every week for exercise.  You will find that you are more productive when you return to your work.

    4.  Participate In Enjoyable Activities

Seek out activities that give you true pleasure, things that excite you and allow your talents to shine.  This makes you feel good about yourself and promotes positive emotions.  When you enjoy what you are doing, you tend to excel and succeed more easily.  With each success, your self-esteem grows and motivates you to greater heights.  Suddenly, you feel that success comes naturally.

    5.  Keep Reminding Yourself Of Your Goals

Clearly stated goals and action plans with deadlines ought to be written on paper.  Do whatever is necessary to achieve your goals.  Review your goals daily and develop a strong desire to attain each of those goals.  Our subconscious mind will begin to work on our behalf and steer our daily activities and actions toward attaining our goals.  If you know exactly what you want and want it strongly enough, then you will surely achieve it.  It’s amazing that what we do today has everything to do with where we’ll be six months from now.

In order to be successful and get ahead, you must always be motivated. All the motivation in this world will do nothing for you unless you ACT NOW. Apply these steps and believe that these are practical and effective guidelines. The results will surprise you!

How to Stop Procrastinating in 4 Easy Steps!

Procrastination prevents you from completing what needs to get done and makes you feel anxious and guilty.  We are all experts at this skill and could easily write about how to do it well.  Reverse the trend and unlearn your mastered procrastination skills with these simple tips:

    1.  Focus on the starting line instead of the finish line.  Begin by defining the first step and write it down.  Projects are usually made up of a series of small tasks, so identify the first and next steps and you will get immediate satisfaction from checking them off your list.Susan_Karim

    2.  Be gentle on yourself and make allowances for do-overs.  Larger projects should be viewed as a series of beginnings.  If you become distracted while working on a specific task, don’t get upset with yourself – just start all over again!

    3.  Overplanning a project is just another word for procrastination – it makes you feel like you’re working, but in reality, you haven’t even begun.

    4.  As important as it is to work on and finish a task or large project, it is just as important to schedule leisure time.  Indulge yourself by taking a ten minute break after working on your task for thirty minutes.  Not only will you reward yourself for staying on task, your body is entitled to a stretch, brisk walk or a snack.  It will keep you focused and alleviate mental and physical fatigue.   Plan on a special activity that you truly enjoy at the end of your work week or at the key points in your task.  These special plans are huge motivators and will motivate you to keep on going!

Everything Starts With The Law Of Attraction

Are you just learning about the Law of Attraction and wondering where to begin?  Are you not seeing the results you were hoping for and want to start over?  Here are some of the best ways to get started and succeed.

    1)  Think Positive Thoughts!

Negative thinking is a habit for many people.  It has the power to control all aspects of your life and make you feel totally helpless.  Before you can transform your outer circumstances, you need to learn how to think more positive thoughts.  Take a moment right now and consider the general direction of your thoughts.  Now ask yourself:  Do you consistently focus on the negative?  Do you feel stressed much of the time?  Do you live in a continual state of anxiety and frustration?Susan_Karim

If you answered “Yes” to any of these questions, you must take the necessary steps to turn around your thought habits.  You won’t be able to change them overnight, but you can gradually adopt a more positive thought habit.  When you’re about to do something challenging and you hear that voice in your head starting its negative talk with you, stop for a moment and say aloud, “I am capable of doing this and I will be successful!”  If you feel anxious while waiting on some news, affirm over and over that everything will work out in your favor.  It will take effort on your part to think more positive thoughts, and you probably won’t believe all the things you’re saying – not at first.  But if you keep at it daily, little by little you’ll notice that optimism becomes your new habit.

    2)  Fill Yourself With Positive Emotions!

Our emotions are among the most powerful weapons we have in our arsenal against struggle and lack because emotions are energy.  Whatever emotions we are feeling at any given moment is exactly the type of energy we are emitting to the universe.  Feel negative emotions, transmit a negative signal.  Feel positive emotions, transmit a positive signal.  These signals are what attract your experiences.

To improve the quality of your signal, incorporate a simple meditation time into your day.  Find a quiet place to sit or lie down and silence your mind.  Focus on your breathing and bring to mind something that you want or a situation you want resolved.  Imagine that you already have received what you desire or resolved the particular situation.  Bask in the pleasure you feel from receiving this thing you have wanted or the resolution of the situation you are in and let the feelings of joy, happiness, gratitude and contentment flow through your body.  Believe it or not, just a few minutes of daily meditation can bring about positive changes so quickly it can take your breath away.

    3)  Be What You Are Trying To Attract.

In order to begin feeling the power of the Law of Attraction, you need to be like the person who already has what you want to attract.  For example:  Imagine that you want to attract more money into your life.  Perhaps you’re struggling with some financial difficulties and focusing on what you lack, which only attracts more money challenges.

In order to turn this situation around, begin thinking, feeling and acting like a person who has no money problems.  How would this type of person feel?  How would they act on a daily basis?  I’m certain you visualized a person who was calm, happy, grateful, centered and content.  They are able to handle all their financial obligations with calm and certainty and they aren’t fearful about money because they have a plan.  They would feel abundant and blessed.  If you begin thinking, feeling and acting just like this individual, you communicate to the universe that you are abundant and blessed – and the universe will respond with a resounding “Yes!”

The Law of Attraction is not rocket science!  It’s just a matter of learning how to think, feel and act differently than you have been used to doing for most of your life.  An adjustment period to this new way of thinking is absolutely necessary – just like adopting any new habit!  Don’t expect that you will get it perfect right away.  Simply work at improving your thoughts, emotions and expectations a little at a time, moment by moment.  You may think that small changes won’t create big results, but they can and they will!

Once you master these simple techniques, you’ll reach a point where you can pause, look back and marvel at how much your life has changed, just because you were willing to take it a step at a time.

    Dress Up Your Attitude!

    How are you dressed?

Do you dress in stylish clothing, rich in color, warm and inviting to the eye, or do you dress as a pauper in rags?  How do you react when you see others dressed in each of these ways?  How do you want to be perceived by others?

It is time to move forward to a higher state of living!

This statement in no way implies that you place yourself above another human being or view others as beneath you. Instead, elevate your own self to a place where you are not stuck in a rut, covered with mud, and wondering how you ever got to this place.  Work on having integrity and being virtuous. Work on being whole. Work on being responsible for what you think, feel, and say.Susan_Karim

As we live and interact in this world, it is easy to give into our internal beast. Right now I’m certain you are nodding you head and thinking, “I know exactly what you mean.”  How often have you found yourself in the car chewing out the drivers behind or ahead of you or seen someone saluting you with their finger and displaying their I.Q.?  How about expressing displeasure with the idiocy of the store clerk you’re dealing with? And how many times have you complained loudly about your wait in line? Are these things really that important in the grand scheme of things?  No, not really.  They only raise our blood pressure and, when you make them important, belittle yourself and those around you.

Those of us who have the advantage of living in first-world countries have become truly spoiled and “ME” centered. With our computerized, electrified, and modernized lives, we forget the simple things. We forget our manners. We forget that we are not alone here and our energy affects those around us.  With so much going on in our lives, it’s easy to get caught up in the petty things on a daily basis and fall into a complainer’s frame of mind. Instead, why not train ourselves to exhibit a thankful attitude and be kind to our fellow man? It’s a lot easier on the body, the mind, and the soul and it has a wondrous way of spreading.

When we walk around with our little rain clouds of negativity, we send out showers of this energy to other people. Haven’t you ever had a bad day? Of course you have. When you feel a bad day coming on, stop, breathe, look, and listen and pause. Think about the alternative to living – you could be in a hole taking a dirt nap. Are things really that bad that you have to dump your negative energy on others?  I’m certain you will reply with a resounding “NO!”

Take time each and every day and look at the world. Show your gratitude for being allowed to wake up and enjoy the sun, the air, and everything that is meaningful to you.  The beauty of each day is waiting to be discovered by you. It is one of the many precious gifts we have been given.

Habits are difficult to change, but this is a very easy switch to make.  It is as easy as changing your socks or the part in your hair.  It as just as easy as changing the clothes you wear. Remember: You are the only one who decides what you’re going to wear.

Realize that your attitudes are the clothing of your soul.  Try dressing up for a change and see if your day doesn’t go a little better.

    Move With The River…

Have you ever had the opportunity to sit by a river and watch the undulating and graceful movement of the river grasses, which surrender themselves completely to the ebb and flow of the river?  Arching up through the water, they are firmly attached to a rock in the riverbed. Without this anchor, they would be carried away by the rushing current and would perish.  The upper part of these beautiful grasses has absolutely no resistance which gives it the ability to flow in an infinite dance of movements caused by the river’s ever-changing flow pattern.Independence_Grove_Libertyville_Illinois

Humans can learn from these gentle grasses – the delicate balance between discipline and freedom, routine and diversity, control and surrender, tradition and change. Too much of any of these opposite qualities creates problems.  We need to have discipline, routine, control, and tradition to give us a security base, a moral base, a sense of inner strength and stability to be able to handle the ever-changing circumstances in our lives.

Spiritual disciplines such as prayer, meditation, a healthy diet, introspection, exercise, and breathing techniques help us to find our center and develop inner stability and inner security.  Once we are able to do this, we are free to allow ourselves to flow with life; trusting our higher power, others, and our own selves.   We feel free from the fear of being harmed,  overcome, or swept off our feet.  The greater the connection we have with our inner security base, the more spontaneous and free we can allow ourselves to be.

Just like those river grasses, each of us needs to find our own way of connecting with ourselves and to the spiritual rock that lies within us, so that we may adjust and cope in a more relaxed way with the ever-changing ebbs and flows we encounter in the river of life.

Change Your Life With The Seasons

Fall is in the air! The dog days of Summer are gone. The leaves are making their vibrant color changes and wafting to the ground.  It’s the season of football and pumpkins, bonfires and Halloween, cozy sweaters and warm cider. Our homes are decorated with the bounty, and the color, of the fall harvest – pumpkins, gourds, hay bales, Indian corn. It’s a season of unbelievable beauty, of energy and a time of change.

As I took a walk around my neighborhood yesterday, I was struck by the vibrant colors of the leaves that had fallen and the crunching sound they made as I walked over them. It made me smile and think back to my childhood. I remember my dad raking up the leaves into big piles and me running full blast into them, scattering them in many directions.  Throwing them up in the air and having them fall on me in a shower of gold, crimson, yellow and brown, I can feel the warmth of the smile on my dad’s face as he looks on with joy. It’s the nip in the air at this time of year that energizes and awakens our senses and renews our spirit.Susan_Karim

The change in seasons is the perfect time to reflect on those changes we want to make in our lives. Now that you have changed your closets for the season and will soon set your clocks to “fall back” in time, think about what other changes you may want to make as you strive to transform yourself this Fall.

Here are a few suggestions to get you thinking:

    1. What can you do to show your most vibrant self this Fall?  What is it you want right now?  How can you be even more true to yourself?  What can you do to surround yourself with more beauty?

    2. What routine(s) would you like to “fall back” into?  Any old hobbies you would like to bring back into your life?  What is it that you really miss doing or participating in?

    3. What is holding you back?  What keeps getting in your way or is making you flounder?  What antiquated beliefs are you clinging to?  What clutter can be cleared from your home or work space?

    4. What are you ready to tackle this Fall?  What changes or fixes have you been putting off?  What steps can you take in order to fulfill your desires?  Be like a child and jump into the pile of leaves!  Bring back that insatiable childhood energy and start something new.

    5. What things or activities do you need to start saying “no” to?  What is it that’s draining your energy?  What is it you want, or need, to stop doing?

Begin your transformation this fall by reflecting and making changes in your life. Relax, sit down, and look at the beauty that is unfolding outside your window.  What color are the leaves?  Red, yellow, crimson, brown?  How long does it take them to flutter to the ground?  Are they being blown around or are they falling like a rain shower?  Take a deep breath in and slowly let it out.  With a favorite pen and a piece of paper (and perhaps a warm cup of tea, cider, or cocoa), start writing down your thoughts.  Keep on writing, but do not edit what you have written.  By pondering on the above questions, you are taking the first steps toward making changes in your life and getting closer to something you truly want. It doesn’t matter on the size of the steps, only that you are making them. What things on your list really stand out?

Enhanced awareness of what we want, what things we miss and what things we are tolerating is a start. Celebrate this season of change by identifying the changes you would like to see in your everyday life. Dive into Fall with a plan to energize yourself, to live a more fulfilling life, and to celebrate new beginnings and a new you.

Create Your Destiny – Ask, Believe and Receive

It’s not a secret that we are the creators of our own reality with our thoughts.  Everything that we are or that we have is manifested because we’ve have thought about it and wanted it.  Whether conscious or not, we bring things, people, and experiences to our lives through our thinking and visualization.  Much like the verse in the bible that says “ask and ye shall receive”, our life mirrors the same message:  ask, believe, and receive.

As with anything we do, it is essential to first clear our mind of the unnecessary clutter and chatter.  I’m certain that each of us has a spot that we go to in order to relax and reduce our stress.  Maybe it’s a comfy chair, a window seat, the park, the back yard, etc.  In this same vain, we need to have a special place where we can go and just clear our minds.  For some individuals, their “no stress zone” may work well.  For others, a completely different space may be more beneficial.  Whatever you choose, you need a space where you can let your mind think and wander instead of just relaxing and reducing your stress.  Use this space to think of your intentions in life or what you want and how you will get it.  Make this place as comfortable and inviting as you can. Personalize it with some of your favorite things – a plant, a small water fountain, candles, incense, meaningful treasures, or whatever brings you peace.

Now that you have designated a place to clear your mind, think about and decide what you want or what gift you want to receive.  It is important to have no other thoughts when you start to formulate what you really want.  It could be a million dollars, a job, to go back to school, to buy a house, etc.  Get the picture?  Just remember to dream big because your psyche will start acting.  It is for this reason that people often refer to someone going after a dream as being “psyched out”.

When you dream of something you really want, whether it is something you want to accomplish, own or be, you must be perfectly clear with yourself in order to start down the path toward your desired outcome.  To bring to fruition your desired outcome, you must be specific and ask for what you want.  If you say, “I want to lose weight”, then just saying it is not specific enough.  You should say, “I want to be healthy, live longer, eat less, and look better”.  The correct phrasing makes all the difference in turning your intentions into reality.

Because you can dream, think, and ask for what you want, you must also believe that you can achieve it.  In order to achieve what you want, you must be able to visualize it.  Many times basketball coaches will tell young people to “visualize” the ball going into the basket in order to score.  It has been scientifically proven that imagining something is as close to actually doing it.  If your thoughts and feelings are on the same level as what you want, you will raise your emotional bar and expand your imagination.  Thus, you have a great chance of being successful.

When you come to the realization that it is possible to achieve your dreams by visualizing them, you need to express your gratitude.  Get yourself a small journal or tablet of paper and write down all the things you are grateful for – big and small.  Making a list of everything you are grateful for sends even more intentions into the world and will bring even more good things to you.  It allows your unconscious mind to take on what you are capable of doing.  It also opens your heart to give gratitude for the beautiful life that you have received.  Gratitude should be an enormous part of your life and should come as natural as breathing.

Once you’ve cleared your mind, decided what you wanted, visualized having it and expressed gratitude for what you have, your request is heard.  The details of how it will happen will begin to fall into place.  Stay positive during this process by monitoring your feelings, but let go of trying to control things.

Whenever you start to feel down, sad or angry, give yourself a reminder of all the good that is to come.  Turn your feelings around so you will be surrounded by only good and positive vibes.  Read a book, listen to music, take a walk, listen to a motivational CD – just do something that will keep you inspired and feeling positive.

Be patient if your dreams do not come true in hours, days or even months.  Keep believing and sending out positive thoughts and feelings and continue to keep negative thoughts at bay.  Remember to be grateful and really enjoy your gift when you do receive it.  You worked hard to receive your gift, so bask in the joy and pleasure it brings to you.  When you ask, believe and receive, your life will be filled with an abundance of happiness and inspiration.  Enjoy your life and be inspired – life is good!
